Residential stakeholders across the country have learned from the Damar (Indiana) short-term, family-focused and outcome-based practice model. Many have asked for more in-depth time to learn both about their clinical practices and executive framework. This session will provide time for learning and discussion in both areas. The Damar leadership/practice journey will include detail about philosophy, principles, staffing, business and fiscal practices, and tracking and use of outcome data to inform practice improvements. The Damar clinical practice model will include details about family engagement strategies, staff training and supervision for working with families in their homes and communities, and partnerships with schools and community resources. Challenges met over the years and successful strategies to address will also be discussed. Feedback from family and youth advocates will enhance the learning process of attendees.
