This presentation, stemming from ACRC's 12 position paper, builds on the previous papers in the Redefining Residential Series to address psychotropic medication use in children and youth. This presentation will discuss the importance of establishing efficient methods of measuring response and communication within a multidisciplinary treatment setting. In addition, a critical analysis of the evidence for use of psychotropic medication with children and youth will be explored, examining the complications of multiple medication use and the ever-increasing complexity of youth entering care or at risk of entering care. Finally, discussion will include the influence of combined treatments and issues in monitoring outcomes across these dynamic treatment settings.
