Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is a standard evidence based therapy in trauma treatment. Presentation will introduce the history and basic process of EMDR along with a clear road map for achieving effective results in the residential setting for both the clinician and direct care staff. The Dual Clinician Model will be introduced along with implementation recommendations.

Dr. Judy Davis: I am a Clinical NeuroPsychologist with 17-years’ clinical and assessment experience with children in many different settings. My assessments are designed to identify the strengths and weaknesses so that necessary strategies and skills for improved regulation can be identified and taught to children. Supporting children’s development of both awareness and skills, allows them to interact more effectively with the world. Becoming alert to how the brain/body responds to events combined with training the brain to make effective decisions increases their sense of choice and security.

T.J. Stanfield: Executive Director Aurora Plains Academy, Plankinton, SD. 21 years’ experience in residential care. Certified in EMDR as well as an EMDRIA Approved Consultant.
