Children's Center of Hamden (The)
Mending young hearts and minds: that’s what we do at The Children’s Center of Hamden, Connecticut’s oldest chartered private child-caring agency for children and teenagers who struggle with serious emotional, behavioral, psychological and social problems.
What began in 1833 as The New Haven Orphan Asylum has evolved into one of Southern New England’s most esteemed facilities for children who must deal with the effects of physical and/or sexual abuse, psychiatric illness, learning disabilities, substance abuse and family trauma.
We offer help and hope to CT children and their families.
On average, more than 150 children and their families benefit each day from programs and treatment offered by The Children’s Center Of Hamden. Our attractive campus is located at 1400 Whitney Avenue in Hamden, CT. Though most of whom we serve are from the Greater New Haven area, The Children’s Center welcomes children and families from all parts of Connecticut. We offer help and hope to many children in Connecticut, improving the quality of their lives and keeping their families together.
