Baptist Children's Home and Family Services
Baptist Children’s Home offers residential care and treatment to teens with behavioral issues (multiple suspensions, truancy, fighting, failing grades, family struggles, homelessness, runaways). Often times, BCH can help redirect the life of a troubled teen before the need for legal or DCFS involvement becomes necessary. BCHFS has residential housing cottages that are staffed by Christian houseparent couples who reside with students around the clock. BCH offers unique treatment plans for each student designed by Masters-level therapists. Additionally, they offer:
Therapeutic Recreation – Social activities, sports, art and adventure-based recreation (including high and low ropes courses) to help build self-esteem and positive peer relationships.
Behavior Modification – BCH cottages operate on a token economy. Students are given the opportunity to earn privileges by making positive behavioral choices.
Academic Development – BCH students attend local schools and are offered ongoing tutoring to improve academic performance.
Spiritual Opportunities – BCH cottages attend Sunday worship services as a family. Students also participate in on-campus worship services designed to promote a hands-on involvement.
