Dr. Nick Ryan currently serves as the Assistant Vice President for the Clinical Training Department at Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services in Los Angeles, CA. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Board-Certified Art Therapist and Certified Psychoanalyst. He has been dedicated to working with young people and their families in residential care since 1997 serving in various roles including clinician, group home supervisor, clinical director and program administrator. Dr. Ryan has training and experience working with the LGBTQ community and has presented on the topic of working with LGBTQ youth in child welfare both nationally and internationally. He graduated with his master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy with specialization in Clinical Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University and earned his doctorate from the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, in 2012 both in Los Angeles. He is a faculty member with the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis and the Antioch University Psychology Department.
