MAP Coordinator / Health Services Coordinator

The Fall River Deaconess Home is a private, non-profit, community-based agency serving youth and their families with a comprehensive continuum of residential, educational, clinical, medical, and supportive services. Our agency provides services in a trauma-informed environment designed to create a therapeutic environment to enrich the lives of youth from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medication Administration Nurse Manager to oversee Medication Administration Program (MAP) compliance, training, documentation, and health services support across multiple buildings, all located in the Fall River Historical Highlands. This role is essential in ensuring regulatory compliance, staff training, quality assurance, and safe medication administration for the individuals we serve.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 10:00am – 3:00pm

Essential Responsibilities

MAP Oversight & Compliance

  • Coordinate and conduct all MAP trainings and required re-trainings
  • Complete yearly MAP staff observations and ensure documentation is maintained
  • Manage MAP audit responsibilities and quality assurance reviews
  • Remain current with State MAP regulations and ensure policies are updated
  • Train staff on new and updated MAP regulations
  • Maintain accurate MAP documentation across all buildings

 

Medication Management

  • Review medication administration records for accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure medication orders are correct and accurately transcribed

 

  • Monitor and address medication errors through the Virtual Gateway system
  • Provide retraining to staff following medication errors
  • Fill in for medication administration and pack medications when RN coverage is unavailable

Health Services & Training

  • Oversee all health services in-service trainings, including vital signs
  • Oversee controlled substances, including license renewals and proper medication disposal
  • Support community-based support staff with medication training and health-related questions for respite participants

 

Youth & Program Support

  • Lead health education related to self-administration and healthcare access
  • Support youth (18+) in accessing community-based healthcare providers
  • Optional: Facilitate health-related groups (hygiene, body awareness, etc.)

 

Additional Support Responsibilities

  • Assist with progress review meetings when RN is unavailable
  • Provide on-call coverage as part of rotational schedule
  • Perform additional duties to support overall health services operations

 

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (R.N.) Licensure
  • MAP Train the Trainer Certification required but willing to enroll candidates in certification
  • Strong knowledge of state MAP regulations and healthcare compliance
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and training skills
  • Ability to retrain and support staff in a constructive manner
  • Experience working with youth and healthcare education preferred
