The Program Manager supports and implements the policy and philosophy of the Agency and the residential program, to ensure that the therapeutic milieu is being actively pursued and the Youth are receiving appropriate therapy. To supervise the program environment. Supervise coworker’s of the program, which includes providing support, training and performance management for direct reports.
Schedule: Monday-Friday; three 9a-5p days,two 11a-7p days; crises management as needed; on-call; schedule flexibility needed to meet program need.

In this role, you will:
- Support and implement the therapeutic milieu of the program
- Be responsible for the implementation of each youth’s individual treatment plan and ensure their therapeutic needs are being met
- Be actively involved in all aspects of case management within the program
- Ensure education, employment and treatment goals are managed for each youth
- Supervise all program communication, i.e., log entries, incident reports, phone, and written communication to supervisors and to external bodies, as appropriated
- Assess youths’ placement and duration of stay at Mercy Home for Boys & Girls
- Be responsible (or accessible to advise on) the use of de-escalation and behavior management techniques as outlined in CPI protocol
- Facilitate weekly team meetings and program retreats
- Provide regular supervision to direct reports. Offer support and feedback, conduct performance evaluations and use progressive discipline when necessary
- Participate in home visits as necessary
- Participate in school meetings and provide transportation as needed
- Facilitate treatment planning with outside agencies
- Participate in Admissions staffing
- Be on call to program M-F with rotating weekends. Be flexible with schedule in order to attend agency events and meet the needs of the program
- Learn, align with, and execute the treatment philosophies, modalities, and practices of the Agency
What we need from you:
- Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
- Experience managing individuals and teams
- Experience in residential treatment
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team approach model
- A valid Illinois driver’s license, ability to drive a van, maintain a clear driving record, and retain driving approval through the Department of Children and Family Services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as the ability to become proficient in other software packages and programs

- Ability to attend required Agency trainings (including CPR/First Adi and Crisis Prevention Institute Training) and maintain necessary training compliance. Flexibility to attend daytime trainings or sessions outside of regularly scheduled hours.
- Promote, support and role model the use of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) theory and practice for all coworkers in de-escalating situations.
