POSITION TITLE: Relationship and Events Manager
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Executive Director
SUMMARY: The Relationship and Events Manager works with the Executive Director (“ED”) to organize volunteer activities, manage special events, and support donor-related administration for the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist the ED and Development Committee in raising $1.4M+ each year in private, corporate or foundation donations
- Assist in setting up donor meetings and managing donor portfolios
- Manage the Development Committee scheduling, agenda distribution and note taking for monthly meetings
- Enter donor data, run reports, track gifts, and maintain the health of the donor base (Bloomerang)
- Produce and send gift acknowledgement letters and manage the thank you process
- Assist the ED with research and the submission of grants and required reports for funders
- Lead the execution and management of details for special events including Annual Cloudveil Gala, Annual Golf Benefit, Red Top Meadows Family Picnic, Staff Appreciation Party, Donor Hosted Events, and other events as they arise.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and venue hosts
- Work with marketing team to develop and produce content for event materials
- Manage the invitation process for events
- Plan event with attention to financial and time constraints
- Create financial reports and collect payments from events
- Manage the acknowledgement and thank you process post-event
- Maintain a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events
- Provide regular communications to the Development Committee on event(s) progress and identified metrics for success
- Manage Event Committee meetings including scheduling, agenda preparation, note taking and follow-up
- Uphold TYFS’s mission and vision with volunteers and at events
- Willing to accept other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma and minimum of three years of applicable experience working with fundraising and events
- Non-profit experience a plus
- A clear understanding of and commitment to the principles of confidentiality in our work
- Required working knowledge in Microsoft Office, web design, and database functionality
- Proven spreadsheet and budgeting acumen as well as strong writing skills.
- Problem-solving ability
- Experience working with colleagues in graphic design, sales, marketing, and communications
- Excellent organizational, communication, negotiating, and multitasking skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a customer-service mindset
- Proven track record of organizing successful events
- Able to self-direct and work independently as well as in a group
- Detail oriented and reliable with good time-management skills
- Able to listen for understanding and open to feedback
Compensation
- Starting Salary- $60k
