The Barry Robinson Center is a premier behavioral health system dedicated to improving the lives of children since 1933. We are a mission-driven non-profit organization with Catholic roots that prioritizes the well-being of our residents and our staff. Our residential program consists of a beautiful 10+ acre and 72-bed facility in Norfolk, Virginia.
Our non-profit organization supports children and families from all branches of the military. We are proud of our commitment to working with military-connected youth between the ages of 11-17. As an organization we have a global reputation for the care we provide, including limited number of restraints and other outstanding outcome data. We offer many robust programs including recreational therapy and have a fully accredited school on campus that includes three different virtual educational platforms to help ensure our residents are meeting their educational needs. We have a 1:4 direct care staff to resident ratio, and our therapists have a caseload of 6-8. The Senior VP of Operations: Residential Services would be an ambassador responsible for the operations of the organization to include developing, implementing, supervising all therapeutic components of the Residential program reporting directly to the CEO. This role involves providing management oversight and direction to The Barry Robinson Center services and programs, with the possibility of becoming the next Chief Executive Officer.
This position engages with a diverse group of leadership, board members, residents, families, physicians, and community partners. A considerable portion of this role is facilitating and managing business development; measured by our customer retention and growth as well as referral development and acquisition. The ideal candidate has the ability to develop and maintain relationships, align company resources with market strategies, and the ability to meet and establish long range revenue goals, strategies, plans and policies. Requirements:
- Master’s degree required; MBA preferred
- Military competency and ability to engage with all ranks and branches
- Minimum 3-5 years operational experience in a healthcare center or social service agency
- Understanding of PLL (Parenting with Love and Limits) and/or DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)
- Working and practical knowledge of state/federal regulations pertaining to behavioral healthcare
- CARF regulations and certification process preferred
- Working and practical knowledge of development in children and adolescents
- Ability to engage with board members and a diverse leadership team (two psychiatrists on staff)
- Ability to travel and act as ambassador for the Residential program (conferences, briefing to senior military leadership and other meetings)
- Strong understanding of revenue cycle & telehealth
- Critical thinking skills as well as excellent communication skills (including Public Speaking)
