History of ACRC

From our humble beginnings in 1956 with 13 professionals gathering to discuss "common approaches and problems of emotionally disturbed children requiring in-patient treatment" to a membership today of over 170 and an annual conference with more than 500 attendees, ACRC has continued to evolve with and for Residential Providers.  In spite of challenges presented,  the goals and values of the organization have proved enduring and the heart of ACRC’s mission—to be a resource to member agencies working to provide effective and transformative care to the most vulnerable children, youth and families— continues to strengthen as a voice in both the domestic and interntational community.
