As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be directly involved in nurturing the hope, healing, and resilience in Idaho as part of direct care team.  This team will be advancing leading practices in trauma-informed, youth-guided and family-driven behavioral health practices.

Must haves:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Idaho
  • Must have valid, state-issued driver’s license or obtain one within 15 days of hire, as a condition of continued employment
  • Knowledge of computer and EHR systems


  • One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Our Licensed Practical Nurses:

  • Provide direct patient care, including monitoring visits
  • Conduct nursing and health assessments upon admission and on a weekly basis for each youth
  • Oversee and execute medication administration, including observation of psychiatry protocols
  • Triage of emergency or urgent situations; administer emergency or first aid care; triage clients to determine the appropriate level of care necessary for the health and safety of the clients

Residential Center staff are required to be up to date with various vaccinations, including the influenza and COVID-19 vaccines, barring an approved exemption.

As a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, the Idaho Youth Ranch is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PLSF) program. The PLSF offers student loan forgiveness on qualifying loans under specific conditions. Speak with your loan provider for more information.
