FAMILY-DRIVEN CARE

This Family-Driven Care Webinar consists of three different learning activity opportunities:

• Video Part One: Family-driven Care: Strategies for Improving Program Practice and Staff Skills – featuring a CEO and Youth Peer Advocate/Credible Messenger Perspective. This video is approximately 40 minutes long and highlights a seasoned residential executive leader with over 20 years of experience focusing on family-driven care and permanency, as well as a youth peer advocate/credible messenger, both from The Children’s Village (NY). The faculty share key strategies, program practices, and staff skills important to engaging, supporting, partnering with, and empowering families. Although this video is targeted to all levels of leadership and clinical staff, all residential staff and stakeholders will find this video relevant and learn strategies to improve their own family-driven care focus.
• Video Part Two: Family-driven Care: Strategies for Improving Program Practice and Staff Skills – featuring a Senior Leader and Family Partners Perspectives. This video is approximately 41 minutes long and highlights the experiences and recommendations of a senior program leader, a family partner supervisor, and a family partner.  Their organization (Children’s Home/NY) developed a formal plan to prevent/reduce restraint and promote/improve family-driven care and permanency approximately four 1/2 years ago. The faculty share key strategies, program practices, and staff skills important to engaging, supporting, partnering with, and empowering families. Although this video is targeted to all levels of leadership and clinical staff, all residential staff and stakeholders will find this video relevant and learn strategies to improve their own family-driven care focus.
• Educational Materials: There are several educational materials included for viewers (e.g., the PowerPoint slide deck of the presentation; a document summarizing key points made during the webinar; a curated list of family-driven care resources for residential programs; etc.)
