Charles Izzo, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Associate with the Residential Child Care Project at Cornell University. He conducts research that informs efforts to improve programs and services for young people. His recent work involves evaluating staff-development programs designed to improve the quality of service provided to youth in group care, foster care, school, and youth development settings. Current projects include quantitative assessment of caregiving practices and youth-adult relationship quality, and qualitative studies of changes experienced by staff following implementation of a crisis management program.
