With every residential treatment program struggling to find and to retain quality direct care staff it may be helpful to reflect on some of the intrinsic joys of direct care work with children and youth. Blending core principles of direct care, humorous real life examples, and hopefully some insight gained through forty years of working on “the line”, the presenter will inspire, encourage, and sympathize with those who are doing the “work”. Using a fireside chat approach audience members will be encouraged to share their own experiences.
