Simon Walsh is CEO of Allambi Care, a not-for-profit organisation that operates in New South Wales and Victoria, Australia. Simon leads a multi-disciplinary team of experts who hold extensive experience and knowledge in the out-of-home care, outreach, and disability industries. Allambi Care operate a suite of services which includes Early Intervention and Outreach Services, Foster Care, Intensive Therapeutic Care, Residential Care and Disability Services to children, young people, adults, and families. In addition, Simon leads several unique and innovative support teams who work closely with client-facing programs, and includes clinical, education, and sector training services.
After starting his career in Nursing in the mental health field, Simon began working for Allambi Care as a Youth Worker in 1998, and has worked in various roles before taking on the role of CEO in 2013. Simon is a proud husband and father of four boys.
Simon values a relational approach to his work, believing that professionals in this sector do their best work when they walk alongside those who require care and support. Simon upholds the Allambi Care values and promotes the development of belonging, hope and positive futures for all children, young people, adults, and families who access Allambi Care’s programs and services.
Simon has a considerable international presence in the child and youth care field, speaking at conferences and symposiums as an industry expert. Simon has developed collaborative relationships with international colleagues and leaders, influencing practice and approaches in child and youth care in the USA, Canada, South Africa, and Europe.
Simon is an experienced Company Director and currently holds positions on the Boards of Allambi Care, the Association of Children’s Welfare Agencies (ACWA), the Association of Children’s Residential and Community Services (ACRC) (USA), and CYC-Net International (SA).
