Keith Polan has over 30 years of experience as a public and private sector leader, program administrator, researcher, quality improvement consultant and therapist.   Throughout his career Keith has focused his work on service delivery, policy development and research focusing on improving the outcomes for kids and families.

Currently, Keith serves in the role of Chief Deputy of Child and Clinical Service at the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services.  The Division is responsible for assessing the needs for all youth in care, providing clinical support for youth with mental and physical health challenges placement of youth in specialized foster care and out of home therapeutic settings.

Prior to joining DCFS Keith was the Director of Children’s Home & Aid Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Child & Family Center. Under his leadership, the Rice Center was a leader in Illinois in high-quality residential services for children.

Keith has served on the ACRC board since 2012. He has a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and a Master of Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago. Keith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
