Diversion Programs

Monday, November 6, 2023
11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

As hospitalization rates for young people are on the rise across the county, identifying effective crisis stabilization and hospital diversion models for youth is a critical piece of the children’s crisis continuum. Seneca Family of Agencies is a nonprofit provider of children’s behavioral health, child welfare, education and probation services in California and Washington State. Seneca’s crisis continuum includes community-based mobile response, outpatient crisis stabilization units, and short-term residential treatment programs to avoid or minimize traumatic and costly inpatient hospitalization for youth. Seneca leaders will present on Seneca’s treatment approach and philosophy in providing crisis stabilization services for young people, including a deep dive into one particularly unique co-located crisis stabilization and residential program in Ventura County.
