In this session you will hear from leadership that have been instrumental in taking their behavioral health agency to the next level of providing telehealth services for the treatment of mental health and psychiatric diagnoses. Building on the success of our initial telehealth pilot in 2013, we have partnered with many insurance companies, hospitals, residential facilities, Community-based Care and Managing entities to increase access to psychiatric and mental health treatment provided to members at the sight in which they live or congregate. Through telehealth, traditional barriers to treatment (e.g. transportation, missing work/school, stigma, geography, logistics) are eliminated and previously underserved populations receive needed treatment in a timely manner. Through the use of a secure and HIPPA compliant, web-based telehealth platform, the telehealth program is able to give members in even the most remote and provider-impoverished areas the ability to receive timely specialized treatment from highly qualified and experienced Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatric Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses and Licensed Mental Health Therapists. Members of all ages, gender social-economic status, and cultural backgrounds are afforded the opportunity to connect directly with their practitioners from their designated spoke site, remote location, or the privacy of their own homes while receiving the same individualized care and treatment as they would in an in-person setting.
