Allyson Hagan has been working in the field of Therapeutic Recreation for 13 years following a very special summer of working at a camp for individuals with varying developmental, intellectual, and physical abilities. She then changed her educational path and pursued a degree from Old Dominion University in Therapeutic Recreation, then matriculating again from Clemson University with her Master’s in Recreational Therapy Management in 2017. Since 2013, when she became a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Allyson has worked for The Barry Robinson Center to provide quality Recreational Therapy services to residents, along with her team of Recreational Therapists, a Therapy Dog and 3 Horses. As the Activities Director, Allyson oversees the planning, implementation and evaluation of daily Recreational Therapy programming. Allyson has continued to work with universities to supervise student internships on the campus and provide Recreational Therapy education and offer knowledge as a networking resource for other professionals.
