Cynthia Garcia Williams, Lead Peer Parent Partner and supervises parent partners and youth advocates in Sycamores Residential and community-based outpatient services. Cynthia earned a Master’s degree in Human Development with a specialization in Life Spans and additionally holds an Associate’s degree in Chemical Dependency Cynthia is the proud mother of 4 amazing children, which have suffered from emotional and behavioral challenges. Cynthia’s children were returned to her after living in several congregate care settings. The family was able to successfully navigate through systems and began a journey of healing that has spanned over 20 years. These experiences motivated Cynthia to want to work with families that could benefit from her vast experience, and she became a Peer Parent Partner at Sycamores in 2009 and was promoted to Lead Parent Partner in 2014. In 2021 Cynthia wrote and directed her first short film “Dukkha,” which is based on her recovery journey.
