Mackenzie Gordon is a student in the Master of Social Work program at Dalhousie University and holds a Bachelor of Arts (with majors in Psychology and Sociology) and a certificate in Social Research Methodologies from Mount Allison University. Mackenzie also holds a graduate certificate in Knowledge Mobilization from Bishop’s University. Mackenzie’s work experience has centered around youth and families, housing, education, the child welfare system, and community development. Mackenzie is particularly interested in the field of CSEC and child welfare after working as a youth care worker with youth entrenched in sex work under care of the Province of Nova Scotia. Mackenzie is currently completing a thesis exploring how we understand notions of ‘risk’ and how risk assessments could be explored from an anti-oppressive approach.
