Nicole Klasey is a clinical psychologist who worked for 15 years with child abuse survivors. She currently consults with agencies on trauma-informed care, programming for commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC), vicarious trauma, and leadership development. Nicole has trained multidisciplinary audiences on trauma-related topics since 2015 and teaches at the undergraduate and graduate level. She developed several of the training curriculums that are being utilized in Los Angeles County and throughout California to better equip providers on working with commercially sexually exploited youth and youth at-risk of recruitment of CSEC. She has authored a CSEC prevention curriculum, “Word on the Street: Educating and Equipping Young Women and Girls,” a CSEC intervention curriculum, “The Empowerment Project: Redefining Young Women’s Strength, Beauty, and Courage” as well as a CSEC parenting prevention curriculum and a CSEC parenting intervention curriculum. She is currently in the process of publishing a book, “Embrace the Journey: Applying the Stages of Change with Commercially Sexually Exploited Girls” and has started a second book on applying harm reduction with CSEC. She has been an expert witness on CSEC and trauma in court. Nicole was recently awarded the State of California Senate Certificate of Recognition by Senator Joel Anderson.
