Patricia is a qualified high school teacher, social worker and family therapist. She practiced extensively in residential programs and has research interests in education during care and post-care. She recently led the co-editing of a book – McNamara, Montserrat & Wise (2019) Education in out of home care: International perspectives on policy practice and research (Springer International). Patricia has published and presented widely on transition to university from out-of-home care and attracted major funding to support this via Victoria’s successful Raising Expectations program. She has delivered workshops on education in care, from early childhood onwards, in Hong Kong, Malta and Australia.
